The article below says IE8 won't be supported by Google Apps (note the capital A) in November 15 of this year.
Question: This article and others say "Google Apps" which is a specific thing used by businesses. But sometimes they say Gmail and other things also won't work with IE8.
What's the diff between "Google Apps" (with a capital A) and "web pages made by Google" (which would also mean Gmail, Picasa, Google's search)?
When that date is reached, will there be total fail of those apps, or just certain features?
Also, my public library system uses XP, and IE8 is the last IE that works on XP. If there is this problem, they would have to switch all computers other browsers or upgrade all computers to a later Windows. This must be true of tons of libraries and offices, etc.
Google Apps is a service from Google providing independently customizable versions of several Google products under a custom domain name. It features several Web applications with similar functionality to traditional office suites, including Gmail, Google Groups, Google Calendar, Talk, Docs and Sites ....
Google Apps for business is free for 30 days, $5 USD per user account and month thereafter or $50 per year.
It's possible that the articles are wrong as the above is not what will stop working with IE8.

FTA:
Because Microsoft previously announced that its newest Internet Explorer 10 (IE10) browser will debut Oct. 26, Google will drop support of the older IE8 version Nov. 15, according to the post. "After this date users accessing Google Apps services using Internet Explorer 8 will see a message recommending that they upgrade their browser."
Sounds like they will still work but if you need support and you tell them you are on IE 8, the first thing they will tell you do is to upgrade to at least 9.
