I want to get more into PC gaming, start a gaming stream and learn how to edit video for a YouTube channel/Blog combo I'm coming up with(nothing professional, just personal stuff). My parents are being super killer awesome becauese they offered to buy me a new computer for Christmas, and are letting me pick a configuration provided the entire thing stays under $900 after shipping.

I was leaning towards that, but I have a question. Would I be able to buy a SSD, uninstall Windows 8 then reinstall Windows 8 on the SSD? My friend says a SSD is vital for loading games and applications really fast, and I can use the 1TB SATA drive for all my data instead.
