Unless I type extremely slow, my computer hesitates, and it skips letters all the time. Is it time to replace my keyboard?

It's possible since the buffer is in the keyboard but if it's an USB keyboard it might in conflict with another device.

Have you just installed a device or driver?

Replace batteries and press reset hole. If problem continues then plug transmitter into a different USB hole and see what happens (drivers will reload). In my experience the wireless transmitters tend to fail over time and after trying different manufacturers over the years have reverted back to wired keyboards and mice.

reset hole? USB hole? You've got some odd equipment, most others have a reset button or USB port...

If you put a USB device into a different USB port usually the device will reinstall.

Really? In my experience, if the device has been plugged in before (any port), the PC remembers it. It's in the USBSTOR section of the registry.
