I'd rather have four 1TB at $40 each. There's enough room to use two for backups and if one craps out you don't lose everything as you would if one 4TB drive died.

250 hard drives would probably put out more heat than a refrigerator, too. You could stop paying to heat the room that it is set up in!

No link to those $40 1TB drives? I don't think there is such a beast. At least not new. Refurb, maybe.
