Norton does protect against malware, but I prefer Malwarebytes. Since it is a dedicated program I feel it does a better job.

Common business model, and this development would not surprise me.

I know it's common but it borders on fraud, years ago I purchased lifetime license from a software company which included everything they produced at that time. I don't use it anymore and I certainly got my money out of it. Since then what they have done is stopped updating some products and created new ones with very similar uses that have a different name.

If it's something new instead of updating the core product where it should be they create a separate product as add on.

If that's your concern, they allow you to buy 1-year business licenses through them directly for personal use (you don't have to be a business). You renew on a yearly basis until you aren't satisfied with the product anymore (or until it is discontinued).

That is a great deal. Nice.
I'll be passing though. I don't get Malware. Ever. I'm just that good.

How about Stopzilla AM? Purchase - AntiMalware Software by STOPzilla

$19.95/Year and they are 100% US company (feels good to talk to non-india rep for change). I have it and no problem so far.

It might be a decent software but I run the other way when I see a program with "zilla" at the end of its name!

It's $12. What's the big deal?

I don't think anything more needs to be said on the subject.
Seems to get not so good reviews from what I can see.

It might be related to the old software, whihc had issues, they went long way from original antivirus... I had a malwarebytes, zone alarm and Norton (worst by far). Stopzilla detects and stops much more intrusions.

Just my 0.02 cents
