Sometimes when i turn it on, a cursor appear at the top left corner and freezes, all I see is a blank screen with a cursor at the top left corner I had to switch on and off at least 5-8 times before the laptop starts normally. what is causing the laptop to freeze when i turn it on?. today when i turn it on. it happened again

Run Scandisk and Chkdisk.

My Computer/Drive C:/Proerties/Tools tab/Check Now/Fill both boxes/Start/Restart computer and let the programs run. It will probably take a while so get a cup off whatever you drink and relax.

Mister Meester, do you know how to do what Tek suggested?

If not, please see this.

It seem like your Operating System (Windows) is about to take a dump. This typically occurs due to corrupt operating system boot files.

What corrupts boot files? Typically:
Hardware - A faulty hard drive (bad sectors)
Software - A malicious software infection
Software - A faulty application or device driver

See my previous post for typical causes for this issue. Also, make sure you have a current backup of your data as well!
