Can't find anything pertinent to this so will ask here.
Windows did do an update when I shut down last night so maybe related.
The address search bar won't work..... hit the 'spy glass' and nothing happens except that it disappears.
Should I just uninstall the update...or should I have done that before bothering you people ?

Just realized....I'm also getting spellcheck here and in emails....not a setting I ever chose anyplace

Spell check is new feature in IE10, so the update was probably IE9 to IE10.

Ah....that would also explain the other changes I've noticed since posting.
Just checked and see the auto update for IE is checked (I didn't do that either
Many of these changes are ......well....they're just changes for change sake obviously. Keeping programmers in jobs?
Now to go look for 10 screwing up the address bar search to see if it's related

The bulk of changes for something like a browser the user will never notice.

Likely the settings where done when you bought the computer on updates and you never changed the to your preference. you can always go back to 9 or change the settings on updates. you can then also look at what update are before downloading. You can set it to notify you or many other options o type to do automatically.
