My mom has really terrible vision, and glasses can't fix it, so she thought maybe getting another laptop with the best resolution available would help. I doubt it works that way, but if you guys thing there's something to it, please let me know.
Can your mom just enlarge the print? I keep mine at about 125%, sometimes higher. I know that sounds too simple, but that is also what we do with visually-impaired students--we take the font up. True, it is not the easiest to have huge words on a screen, but it seems to help.
I would also talk to her eye doctor for suggestions, if you have not already done so.

Has you/your Mom tried using the Windows Accessibility Features?
She's tried making the text bigger; it doesn't work.
can't someone help her do it has it does work ;she might be doing it wrong. I go one with a anti-glare coating for older people if buying a new monitor and even then size of print isn't larger. I am using a 27 inch and print is same size as my 17 inch.

Doesn't work as in doesn't make the text bigger or she still can't read it?
