Does someone know how to configure a Netgear Wireless router, in plain language for someone who has a severe case of techno-phobia? I've tried to find something understandable on the internet, but everything I've found is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too technical for my simple mind.

What model is it? Didn't the router come with "quickstart" type of instructions?
If not, the steps should be on the disc that came with the router.
It's very simple, don't be afraid. There are also lots of videos on how to install home routers on youtube.

It is an N600 model. No CD in the box! I will look for one of the videos you mention.

I watched 3 different youtube videos, and they were all too complicated for me.

For the most part all you have to do is go to the wireless setting section, change the SSID, enable WPA2, and set a strong password. Most everything else is for advanced users. Wouldn't hurt to change the routers logon password either.

^^^^When I type in 192.168.1.1, a dialog box requesting a username and password pops up. I have no idea what to put in there. How\where would I find that info? Oh BTW, I am typing that in while using my current lynksys router.

Default username for netgear is "admin" and password is "password".
It would be helpful to know what you are trying to do and what problems you are encountering.
For example, are you replacing the Linksys wireless router with the Netgear?

First you have to install the Netgear N600.

Then you bring up the dialog box and enter the name & password jaypee mentioned.

See this first... and scroll down to No CD drive installation
