Question i have is when you click on Windows Explorer and my Search Engine pops up (google) when you type a word in there isn't there a way to store that word longer or shorter before after xxx amount of days after it clears out.

Example..... lets say i type in ''50 states.com'' and then go to that site. Now lets say a couple of days later i want to go back there so as soon as i type the first letter/number ''5'' the whole site appaers so i don't have to type it out. It only remembers it for about 3 days and after that it clears the typed word out unless you type it again within 3 days.

I right clicked Internet Explorer but i can only find an adjust for the History Folder on the task bar (mine's at 30 days).

Am i making sense here to anyone........

Thanks .....6/3

What version of Explorer?

I've got IE 7 and here's what I do:

Tools pull down menu

Internet Options

General tab

Browsing History/Settings

History area at the bottom

Mine maxes out at 999 days

Thanks..... I did exactly what you said and understand what your saying but isn't that for the History Button on the top Task Bar between the Favorates and Mail Buttons.

I thought there's one for the Google Search Box. If you click the Search Box a Scroll Bar appears with all the listings of words (sites) you've typed but they only last on there for about 3 days then they are cleared from that Scroll Bar unless you retype within every 3 days. What i want is for them to last longer on there so i don't have to retype these websites if more than 3 days out.

Does that help any more.....

I understand what you're saying.

When you type a word into google you want it to store what you type in so when you retype it, it pops back up.

I think the autocomplete is stored with your history settings.

I'm not 100% sure though it's been ages since I've last used IE.

Autocomplete is found on the Content tab of the same dialog box in my post above. There is no setting for time....

BTW I agree - use Firefox.

Sorry I couldn't help more! People use many features I don't! Because when I type something and things start popping up I get confused! So I turn off many of the features that come with Internet Browsing programs! Firefox is no exception as well! I turn off everything basically. I'm on the Internet to do my homework and read some stuff every once in awhile and that's it lol. And when there are too many pictures, flash animations, gifs, etc.. I just get distracted and block it.
