I have a, well, I guess you could call him a client, he asked me to build him a server. I asked what tasks the server would be used for, and he said Quickbooks premier wholesale edition 2013 and autodesk inventor 2013.

I googled around and I can't seem to find use for a server application for either of these, so I asked him again, would this be an application server or more of a database server? He responded with "database storage I believe"

Does anyone know if inventor has ANY use for a server? I'm thinking he doesn't really need a server at all, maybe just a backup solution or something. I've emailed him again but I've not heard back.

I don't use Inventor but I think they use Autodesk Vault as a database server to process and store Inventor files.

Just one guy but he may have helpers, but I'm almost positive it's just one guy using the setup.
