The best computer security is having several virtual machines run on your main OS, preferably Linux systems, one with an internet connection and one without. Anti-virus programs show no evidence of being good at removing any viruses, e.g. signature detection can be manipulated with simple HEX editors and heuristics detection is a fairly simple AI to manipulate nowadays, for the smart, malware distributor.
