My business is still using Windows xp. However, we are given a choice of we want to upgrade to Windows 7 pro or Windows 8 pro. Which one do you recommend is better?
Windows 8 is better (8.1 is even better). But there's a learning curve for the new user interface. If you don't want to learn it, then stick with Windows 7.

Windows 7, definitely. Windows 8 is a terrible OS. I'd suggest Linux before Windows 8 - it is less of a learning curve.

Lol. You recommend Windows 7 and say that Windows 8 is a terrible OS? They are near identical... Windows 8 has subtle improvements.
And the learning curve for the average user is Massive win Linux. Sure the UI looks similar, but scratch the surface and it's an entirely different world.

Learning curve=lost productivity.
Our IT staff made the decision to Not go to 8, based on productivity issues. When you have 100 people, some or many are not going to like W8. Otherwise good employees will suddenly become less productive, frustrated and fall behind.
The majority of your employees including IT will hate windows 8. Its adoption rate in the business sector is near completely negligible. Go with windows 7. However, if you can wait a few more months, there is a very good chance a new update is going to come out for 8.1 bringing back the normal interface with the start menu. Microsoft has finally come to the realization that we don't like windows 8 and it is a flop.
The question is do you want people fighting with arguably the most aggravating OS ever released or do you want them getting their work done?
