Stereo track would double that. This is also mono but 3 minutes and 470KB's:

It's just 20kbps, WMA excels at lower bitrates. Typically you wouldn't go this low for music but this file was made years ago to accommodate 56K users. You can use lower bitrates and mono for speech. There is actually specific WMA and other codecs for speech.

That same file in stereo using MP3 or WMA at 128kbps is going to be about 3MB, that is typically the lowest you want to use for music. It's fine for Ipod or other small devices. 320kbps is going to be about 7 or 8 MB and you would use that where quality takes precedence over file size.

320kbps .mp3, little over 7MB.

...the first one is a WMA but that is a very low bitrate. Sounds great for 20kbps but overall it sounds like crap. The second one is a MP3 using a a very high bitrate.

WMA excels at lower bitrates but once you get between 128 to 320 kbps WMA and MP3 are about the same.

If you're looking for absolute quality WMA has a lossless codec and there is others like FLAC but you will run into compatibility issues with devices.
