Some outdated or inaccurate info with lame suggestions though. No.1 step is to do a system restore? Really bad idea in some cases, ineffective in most other cases.

Bad guys transfer all your dough by logging onto your bank account to foreign offshore accounts? Come on, which bank doesn't monitor for suspicious activity at this day and age? This is an automatic red flag and rejection of the transmission requesting client's phone call. Most of the time when I venture like 60+ miles of where I currently live, triggers some sort of an alert with almost all my bank/credit card accounts.

I find the above scenario a bit unrealistic as the account in question could have been compromised due to a stolen card or card number or more commonly, an online purchase.

Unwanted and unexpected software installs are a big sign that your computer system has likely been hacked.
I have yet to see this occur without the so-called victim consciously downloading and installing some (typically a) freebie first.

Pretty crappy article overall, almost none of the "sure signs" are even a remote indicator that your computer was hacked. Having malware/rogue software installed is not the same as being hacked.

I agree. About half of that article was extremely misleading.

What a joke of an article. This is like saying if you can't find something in your house, then it's a sure sign you've been robbed.
