Connectors for Ipods and Windows computers (work, Mac, camera, access)

I saw that Ipod nanos have only the lightning connector and Ipod touch has the dock connector.
How are you supposed to attach these to a Windows computer that has USB ports?

The other end of the cable is a regular USB connector.

The devices have worked with USB since the 3rd generation iPod was released in 2003.

When you say "regular USB" don't you mean the one on most Windows computers?

Oops, USB ports/cables come in different shapes and sizes including A (also called Standard A), which I think is the one on all Windows or Mac computers.

USB 3 or USB 2 refers to the speed and not the shape of the plug.

My (old) digital camera has mini USB on one end and regular at the other.

yep; mine has both USB 2 and USB 3 ports.
