So I mainly use my cheap $500 toshiba laptop bought back in 2005 to do the following:
Play WOW(game), stock trading software, and watching HD videos.
However now that I graduated school, I plan to play games less but mainly to view 1080p HD videos.

What monitor would you reccomend?
So far I have found from research that IPS is a must, and so I found these 3 that are 23inch:

Amazon.com: Asus MX239H, 23-Inch Full HD AH-IPS LED-backlit and Frameless Monitor: Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: Dell UltraSharp U2312HM 23" IPS LED LCD Monitor - 16:9 - 8 ms: Computers & Accessories
Amazon.com: ViewSonic VX2370SMH-LED 23-Inch IPS LED Monitor (Frameless Design, Full HD 1080p, 30M:1 DCR, HDMI/DVI/VGA): Computers & Accessories

Out of these 3 which would you reccomend?'
Or is there any other monitor/HDTV you would reccomend?

Also if you have time, any input for a laptop/desktop with $1300 budget would be great! thanks in advance

The Viewsonic is very well reviewed. It also has one of best non-glare screens.Watch the better reviews is my suggestion .
