I recently started using a new Windows 8.1 computer and noticed that video streaming is not very good with Chrome. The video is very choppy and unwatchable. Now if I watch the same exact video using Internet Explorer 11 it plays just fine. FWIW, I was watching a standard definition video on the CBS.com site. I thought maybe it was an outdated Flash player, but when I went to the Adobe site it told me Chrome has Flash built in and there was nothing to download.
You can switch to use the downloaded flash player instead of the default built in one in Chrome.
In Chrome, go to:
1) chrome://plugins/
2) click details on the top right
3) you should see two entries for flash player (one the default on Chrome, the other the downloaded one you used in IE)
4) click disable for with the Chrome file path, it probably has "PepperFlash" in the filename (and or path).
5) enable the other Flash player.

Yes I already tried that. Only "Pepper Flash" is listed, so I went to the Adobe site and tried to install the Adobe Flash player, but it wouldn't let me (said Chrome already has Flash built in). Might be a Windows 8 issue.
