I am using an HP windows 8 computer and an Epson XP 400 all in one printer.
After having trouble with the print being cut off the top of letters with my previous Epson XP 400 the shipped me a new one (or refurbished?)
Having had some weird issues with the previous wireless install (I could always easily print say from email but not a document, or vice versa I can't remember but it was like some programs saw the printer and others didn't)
I bought a USB cable this time.
Put in the new CD, ran the setup. exe file - which oddly never asked me to choose between MAC or Windows or connection like the install sheet said it would
but
It seemed to get to Print a test page just fine and it did test a print page. So there is some sort of communication.

However when I look in network or anywhere else I don't see the printer. I can't add the printer, it doesn't see any printer devices. The printer window says 'no computer found'.

Not sure what do do?

- If I were you, I would first uninstall anything that is currently installed
- Disconnect the printer and reboot your computer
- Then go to Epson and download the latest driver for your version of Windows
- Install the latest version you just downloaded, connect the printer when requested

If you are using Windows 8.1, you might also want to take a look at this link if you start getting any compatibility related errors.

Here is the PDF version of the manual which you might want to download and review.

Here is the FAQs page for your printer which addresses bunch of different issues which could be helpful.
