Years ago I was looking for books with those pictures that had hidden objects in them for my granddaughter, like were in the children's magazine from school 'Highlights For Children',and discovered THE Hidden Object PC games 'Little Shop Of Treasures' and 'Ravenhearst', and was immediately hooked after getting the free 1-hr trials at Arcade Town. Actually for some reason Ravenhearst[by Big Fish Games] kept going, and when I got stuck on a puzzle I had my adult son solve it,but then he wouldn't get off,and even reported off work the next day, because we kept going all night playing this hidden object game until it was finished, lol!

I purchased those two games and started an internet search for more like them which led me to Big Fish Games which I joined and bought many games and enjoyed their forum for years until they recently did away with them, when members started complaining about the company's move to 'pay as you play' games, like candy crush or Farmville where you pretty much need to purchase items or lives to progress.

I am now only a member at Gamehouse, where I also purchased several games over the years, especially the Delicious Emily/Burger Shop2/Bistro Boulevard....Time Management type games.

Simulation type games are still my favorite genre but they are seldom made.My last favorite one I purchased is Hero Of The Kingdom...Wandering Willows,Gemini Lost, and the two Island:Castaway games are my other favorites of those. I do not really care for any of the Virtual Villagers games as the peeps move sooooo sloooowww that you don't even play the game, you leave it and let it play itself, and come back and check every now and then, talk about BORING!

Anyway, what genres of PC games do you all like, and do you belong to any of the download sites?

This question would be better suited in the video game section, plus if you watch there a few of us post deals and freebies as we find them. However since I am here, I will recommend Steam for you as a great place to buy and download games, steampowered.com, the client is free to download, and all purchases can be made from within the client.

Most of the ones I post in are, the main one I post in in the "Video Game Deals" thread, that's where I post all the good PC game deals I find... if Quert doesn't get to them first. Most of the deals posted in there are for PC, there was one or two that someone posted for console, but shortly after that a console deal thread was started.

steam... if a game does not use steam and installs their own proprietary service that requires a login I generally will not buy a game until such feature is disabled. I use steam only.
