Yep !, because this is what I bought, umpteen years ago ...
If memory serves me right, I think from Amazon ?
From the build date, it must have *updated*
the complete programme some time later (Dec 2012)?
Every day, I get the notice (pop-up),
that it has *successfully updated*,
and then (again according to my scheduled times),
I get the scan results.
Now I wonder why Malwarebytes, does not *entice* me to buy a newer version ?
I just looked to check what is actually installed, and it is *mbam.exe*
I checked the Malwarebyte website, and I did find the *Premium* version only.
Interesting is that the *Paid for* version is only valid for one (1) year !
Those of you who have the paid for version, what happens after one year ?
I haven't paid for a new version ever ...
It just updates and updates, year after year !
I bought 5 copies (two desktops and 3 laptops) and they are all the same version.
Lurking more on their website, I find the below statement:
Note especially the last line !!
Get all the features of
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free plus:
Realtime Proactive Protection
Blocks Malicious Websites
Stops Malicious Code
Scheduled Scanning & Updates
One reviewer mentioned this:
Cons:
Must be used alongside proactive antivirus software;
Doesn't have quick scan or scan scheduler;
Doesn't inspect emails or websites;
Malware definition updates must be manually initiated
Could that be, why some of you do not get automatic updates ?
I also found this:
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium is the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro that you know and love—but better. It replaces your Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro with even more powerful malware protection, and it looks even better doing it. And, best of all, updating to Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Premium is free.
Not sure if I want to do this, when the validity of the *license* is for one year only ...
As I stated above, I haven't paid for a license since first installation years ago !
LBNL, I use Bitdefender next to Malwarebytes.
top choice according to: (as always - debatable !)
