The terms are used for non name brand computers.

What you posted was not 100% correct for computers on the market since for some the power cord from the monitor plugs into the desktop in addition to the video cable.

I haven't seen, IRL, a connector to piggy-back power to the monitor for at least 20 years. I'm not doubting that it exists, but it is definitely a very rare phenomenon.

Are you referring to something like this? Walmart: StarTech.com Standard Computer Power Cord - NEMA5-15P to C13 - Power cable - 10 ft - for P/N: RKPW161915

I've used those in the past interchangeably to power a monitor or desktop computer

It's been awhile since I've worked with computers though, I'm in a different part of IT now

Actually your link is now the standard. The following link is a possibility:

Link Depot US 3 Prong 1 Male to 2 Female Power Cord Splitter: Computers : Walmart.com

I'm sorry that I just reread the question. I was in the car (parked in a lot waiting for someone, so don't yell at me) when I originally replied.

If you are wanting to save a spot in the power supply, ignore my previous post. I was thinking you wanted to know if you could use the power cords interchangeably.

If you don't have room in the power supply then maybe get a bigger power supply, or try what the poster above me suggested.

The OP question is regarding a power cable that plugs into the power supply in a desktop.

If anyone is in need of one I have it.

Pack rat!

And yes I know the thread is 4 years old. Cut the new poster some slack.

Why? He/she clearly did not read/comprehend the original question correctly, and posted a response that was totally non-applicable. The original question involved the supply of power, not delivery of the video signal. No 'slack' should be given for a dumb response to a years-dead thread, especially when such response is most likely a multi-alias troll attempt to build spare back-up aliases.

BTO/DIY

I think it could be Built To Order / Do It Yourself?

I honestly wish people would stop using anagrams.
It is not "cool" to do so!
