Is the default opening screen like Windows 7 or more like the Metro thing in Windows 8?

Nothing much to see, just Windows 8.1 plus the start menu most people expected 8 originally to have.

What I like to see is the Charm bar gutted completely in favor of something more like the Android notification bar with more modifications settings. Charm bar is nothing more than wasted real estate just to cover a few settings that originally sits in the task bar corner.

that just means a program crash.

it most likely means that one of the device drivers that are installed on your computer is not fully upto the standards it needs to be.

people completely misunderstand what BSOD means. it means some program running in core of windows encountered an error it can not recover form.

It is better not reveal than to hide it.

You must be new here. I'm an IT Support professional and have been for years. I am very familiar with what a BSOD is. And you assume too much. This was on an install into a VM. We hadn't even gotten to drivers yet.
I was just claiming *firsties*.
