I tried downloading some Youtube Training videos. Like how to design a Navigation Menu in Dreamweaver. Because 1000 peso DSL internet in Manila is a slow < 3Mbps internet, with speed limiting. So I would prefer faster downloads with Internet Download Manager and watch the Youtube videos later.

But the saved videos are fuzzed up in a specific 4 region fuzzy pattern, consistent with many downloads. I lately download an mkv file, and vlc player + 2 other players couldn't properly play it. So it seems Youtube now has a protection scheme to prevent downloading and saving vidoes. Do you experience this? How have you bypassed this?

Youtube videos are unencrypted as far as I know at least in the USA anyway.

If you're having trouble with more than just YouTube I would point you to the nearest NOT your computer to rule out codec issues.
