I sort of agree, but it's still just a shell for DOS. I was fond of my Palm III, too, but advancements in technology and the tasks I wanted to use it for have necessitated many upgrades since then. I like Model Ts, too, but you wouldn't find me commuting in one.

I can't say I'm surprised that you're using it. Little of what you do surprises me. Thanks for answering. It's off topic, so I'm done now.

It isn't just robertpasa.
After reading his op, I did some investigating and regardless of what kind of file I tried, that option is gone.
When? With an update, maybe? I don't know since I didn't use it often enough to realize it is missing.
Google brings up quite a bit about it.

Because it's a common issue that it disappears. Microsoft didn't take the option away.

*FIX*

1. Click Start, All Programs, Accesories, Notepad.

2. Copy and paste this text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\Op en With]
@="{09799AFB-AD67-11d1-ABCD-00C04FC30936}"

3. Click File, Save As, name the file "OpenWith.reg" (WITH THE QUOTATION MARKS) and click OK.

4. Now double-click OpenWith.reg, click Continue, Yes, OK, and see if the problem is solved.

Just do it, Robert.

I'm not going to do that since I can use the Open With drop down box on the toolbar.
It's silly that MS caused it go to away anyway.

If you right click on a graphics file and click Preview, it will open the image in the default viewer, you can then right click on the image and Open With is an option.

Thats interesting Peregrine.... I checked my registry and the only entry I have under 'ContextMenuHandlers' is "BriefcaseMenu"

So the 'OPEN WITH' must be written into my OS directly?? (Im quite interested in my registry but some parts of it I dont really ever go into)

No, I think what happens here is something gets or got installed which REMOVED that entry. MS DID NOT REMOVE IT.
All you are doing is replacing it.

Of course, you're on 98SE... my instructions are for 7.

Robert, I would never post ANYTHING that is unsafe for you to try. Just do it.

Come here for help. Get an excellent solution. Your response, "I won't do that". WTH? Why are we taking (wasting) time to help this guy?

If you won't trust Peregrine then you probably don't trust me so in the future I'll just pass by your requests.
