First make sure you have made restore CD's. Acer does not list upgradability. Per cache sites it came with 4GB of RAM and a 500gb hard drive. Its limit is 8GB RAM and there is probably no limit on hard drive size. Turn it upside down, remove battery and then open long door across bottom. There will be either 1 stick of memory or two. You will need to pull the stick and see what speed the DDR3 memory is at. Then google for what you need to do the upgrade of the RAM (1 additional or two 4s). As to the hard drive its SATA so its basically one out and one in.

If you go to Crucial.com it will automatically scan your system and tell you what your options are for memory. You can choose to purchase the memory right there if you want. I've done it several times and it's very easy. I'm not sure if they do the same for hard drives.
