email help needed (desktop, icons, reset, installed)

Have a HP desktop that runs on 8.1. Was using Thunderbird until a restart deleted the program. I need assistance re-establishing the email account that was lost in the restart. Any recommendations?

The program was probably not deleted, just the short cut. Look in

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Thunderbird\thunderbird.exe"

or just search for "thunderbird.exe" if it is there you can re-create the app (shortcut)

Restarts normally don't delete programs. Could you give more information? Did you reset, refresh, or restore Windows 8.1? If so, which operation was it? Is Thunderbird installed now? Are you needing to retrieve the previous email data, or do you simply need help setting the account up in Thunderbird again?
