Hi,

I have zero knowledge of graphics. I know I can edit photos on the computer as opposed to my cell phone. Like if I want to remove black under eyes or hide a bad haircut, stuff like that ?

Should I use photoshop ?

I there anything better ?

Anyway, I would like to edit photos of people and my dog to make it nicer, and I have Zero knowledge on the subject. I am computer literate, just not with photos and pictures. Also I am not artistically inclined at all, 6 year olds draw better then me.

Thank you.

While there are lots of different tools out there for editing photos, Photoshop is the standard. Photoshop will also have the most tutorials and training materials to complete photo editing tasks. In a nutshell, pick up a full copy of Photoshop and a book.

IMO, the question a novice photo editor should be asking is not whether there is anything better than Photoshop, because there isn't, but whether there is anything easier. Photoshop has a lot of features and takes some time to learn. It might take more time to learn than you're willing to spend.

There are plenty of lower-cost photo-editing solutions out there that will likely meet the needs of someone who just has an occasional need to edit photos. Photoshop Elements is a good entry-level product.

Sorry, that does not work for me. 39 bad reviews and one positive. Also I don't edit photos every day, I need software and not a paid service that I use every once in 3 month. What a horrible product.

So if I have to edit one photograph I have to pay $20 to do it myself ? Or I go to photo place in the mall and have it done by professionals for the same money...

Did you even read the reviews? The complaints are actually about the change in pricing model between the previous version and current version. Not the product itself.

The previous version of Photoshop allows you to purchase a license upfront and has no monthly fee. 4 star, too.

Amazon.com: Adobe Photoshop CS6 [Old Version]: Software

If you're a casual editor, just get Photoshop Elements.

Take a look at Photoshop Elements. The full Photoshop is only available as the cloud-based program these days. Elements will give you most of what you need without having to invest a lot of money or time.
