Just a suggestion.
When you buy these small external hard drives, already mounted in a case and made by WD or Seagate, most of them come pre-loaded with software that make a system image and a full back and then will automatically back up at certain intervals so the back up stays current.
Each one of my systems (3) now have those.
Got them from Amazon. less than 70 green ones each.
Decide to do a clean install.
Three (3) days later after umpteen updates (I think close to 300 ?) and re-installation of all software,
now my old good old trusty system is back and everything works.
You can avoid all this by creating a disk image before installing 10.

You should have just rolled back.
Laptop: Upgraded to Win10. Loved it. Touch pad wouldn't scroll. Google. Found others with problem. Found new driver to install. Total time elapsed fixing that: 15 minutes. Win10 stays and it still works great.
Tablet: Installed Win10. Everything worked flawlessly. Rolled back to Win 8.1 at the 25 day mark because 8 is better on a tablet.
I tried W10 and reverted back to W7 within an hour. My W10 install was problem-free and took less than two hours. It was a matter of minutes to revert back to W7.
MS will continue to provide security updates until 1/14/20 so W7 users shouldn't have anything to worry about.
That's one big reason I'll continue using Windows 7, since it will still get security updates for 4 more years. By that time, I might have already switched to Windows 10, but the jury is still out on that.
We went back to version 7 too. So far no problems with the older version. There isn't an updated driver for our computer screen with is hi def and wide, so the displays in version 10 were off. We will stick with version 7 for awhile. It works great and has been very stable.
I just got a new laptop after my Sony Vaio with Windows 7 was ruined. I'm totally convinced that Windows 8 is the worst operating system ever and the Windows 10 upgrade keeps failing.
Literally about two seconds away from wiping Windows and installing Linux Mint.
The Intel graphics chipset crashed on my Acer Vista machine a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't configure the BIOS to use a graphics board so I bought a new Dell box which came with Win 10. No sir, I don't like it. I had been using Ubuntu exclusively which is far better than Microsoft, IMO. Win 10 is like some gnome is controlling the computer and hiding things from me. I liked Vista better though 10 is fast. Almost as fast as linix but doesn't make your computer do it all. Guess I'll get a new mobo and build a linix dedicated box with the old one with a big AMD CPU and 32 G memory. No more onboard chipsets for me. I gotta new EVGA graphics card for the new one.
I liked Windows XP and 7, but my new computer came with 8. I've been happy with it. I've read enough bad things about Win 10 that there's no way I'll change unless I absolutely have to. Maybe by then, something better will have come along. LOL
