Did not see a reference to the article in your post. Have to base comprehension on the information given, which was incomplete.

There's a reference to an article in the OP. You should actually read the thread to understand what is being discussed. Lack of comprehension based on your incomplete understanding of the discussion and thread is going to lead to posts like yours.

I never understood why people come into a thread an post without even reading the first post. The first post discusses a specific article that asserts Microsoft's plans to end its current support level for Windows 7/8.x in 2017.

If you don't have anything to contribute to the thread and the topic being discussed or aren't even going to bother reading and understanding what the OP presented, it's best if you don't post at all.

That being said, the old software licensing strategy (largely invented by Microsoft themselves) does not appear to be the future. I'm fond of the subscription policy and with that subscription, comes support.

I have to agree, it's something to celebrate. I got so fed up w/ Win 7 that I went and got another computer w/ XP. Everything, and I mean everything, is better now. I think all these "security" fears are just that, scare tactics to make people buy new stuff when the old stuff works perfectly well. Just run XP and an anti virus and no worries. If all you Microsoft fanboys believe otherwise, then use your new operating systems. I won't because they're garbage.
