It is probably using more electricity than it is worth.

Maybe, but my electric bill in the heart of the summer here in Atlanta is only $120 a month or so tops, so I'm not that concerned. I've replaced enough incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs to more than make up for it. :-)

$120 a month? Jz-us! Mine is usually 1/6th of it but I am quite conservative, I turn off anything I don't need.
I even tried taking a shower in candlelight. I usually like being in the dark but, it was a bit too dark. It was very romantic though, I couldn't stop touching myself!
(intentional pun; I was taking a shower after all)

PS. Nice rep count; right at 3000!

That's a 2 story 2500 sq ft house kept at 72 all year round in Atlanta. My power bill is less than my ex-wife's in the summer, and she lives in a 2br apartment.

I was just teasing you RC!
My 700 sqft 1 br apt in AZ had a $100+ bill during Summer months and I was keeping the AC at 85 during days and 80 at night!
I lived in TX and AZ so I can imagine GA being hot and especially humid.

One of few things I totally love and enjoy about CA is the flippin' weather as I hate using AC in the car or house.
Then again, that is why I live in an apt. instead of owning my own house.
