You think that's heavy, find a 21+ CRT monitor and lift that. Ten pounds is nothing.

I do find it funny in this day and age that a 6 lb difference causes someone to question why.

My memory might be faulty, but I seem to remember that my old 17" Hitachi weighed 22kg, and my 21" Hitachi CM2111 monitor weighed 33 kilos. But that may have been shipping weight.

The reason I was asking about it was that I couldn't decide among a few similar monitors, so had to rule out some of them by finding "faults" with them.

Did enjoy all the comments!

Well, I heard ASUS monitors are jerks.
Buy a Dell monitor instead, they're much more polite.

Is 27" screen too large for non-game-playing uses? (office, Internet...) I know one can sit further away, but then you would also need to enlarge the fonts.

i don't think a 27 inch is to large for non gaming use for an office application that's what i started with now i'm running a 34 inch screen for gaming and regular interwebs useage. i thought about bringing the pc in the bedroom and hooking it up to my 105 inch screen. a 19 inch is to small for my blood!!

How far do you sit from the screen? Do you enlarge the fonts?
