My thread about having to replace my laptop was [mod cut] as advertising, which it was not. It was simply a notice about losing a laptop and replacing it. No sales pitch. No expecting anyone to run out and buy one. Just a simple statement.

[Mod cut: hope I explained why it happened]

I just checked it, and it did "look" like an ad, because you didn't bother to make a small "story" about what happened, and why you bought that one.
You just posted a link and a picture.
You can repost it here, but please, compose a better post

Reminds me of a guy who used to post and had under his signature, "Communication is not our thing."

But I think he used to post in the Relationships forum.

Relationships is interesting, but I don't have the time to follow. Back in my USENET days, no problem.

Hmmm. Methinks C-D needs an NNTP interface. I wanna use slrn or Yarn to read these forums!

So what laptop did you buy, Tech?
I was on this forum all during May because of 3 BSOD crashes. Turcoloco sent me
to MajorGeeks.com for help removing a trojan. Am hoping it's gone but just in case, I would like to know which laptop you decided upon....
Thanks.

I really like the Hijackthis.com site. It's great for advanced computer users, but newbies have an opportunity to send FREE their logfile for evaluation. Those guys are awesome, and they helped me a lot when I was learning how to do it by myself.
I have it on my desktop and on a driver, just in case if I can't access the computer. I can find stuff there that no other of my installed programs can find. Using them for years now, and occasionally fixing my friends computers too
They also have a computer forum.
Great little app
