From what I have experienced, most of the time, it is the either the site and/or the add-ons especially ad/script blocking or some other type security add-ons.

No page crashing using Waterfox (ver. 44&46) but with Adblock Plus, occasionally, it seemed problematic when using web mail (Outlook.com), so I switched to Adblock Ultimate.

Opera which is becoming my current favorite seems to work seamlessly with Adblock and couple of other "must have" extensions I use (screenshot).

I have confirmed even Web Of Trust can effect site loads a bit depending on the version of Firefox/Waterfox and the site being visited. The problem seems to occurs rarely and it is definitely site (code) specific.

The more add-ons, the slower and more problematic things seem to get, for sure.
Best to use only the extensions you have to have!

I like Firefox the best, it allows you to custom build your browser, protecting your privacy and blocking annoying adds and pop-ups.

That's nothing, my friend. You've got at least 4 GIGAbytes of RAM, yes?
Chrome isn't the #1 browser because it's slow and bloated. On the contrary.

However, if you want to try something else, Firefox certainly doesn't make it hard to get to YT or Gmail.
That'd be nifty =D

Popped up task manager and one single process of Chrome was chugging away at 500-600 MB of RAM, rest were 80-200ish and there's about a half dozen or so of them. I mean, that's a lot of RAM (probably about 1-1.5 GB total). Do I care? Not really. You should see what happens when you run out of RAM running to much stuff and it is trying to run browsers with the page file from the hard drive. Oh, hell no. RAM is cheap. Give me a RAM pig any day over that. Slap some more RAM in it costs almost nothing.
