Just read about that new supercomputer from China. It is three times as powerful as the hitherto leading supercomputer, which is also Chinese. But apart from the incredible computing power, the interesting thing is that it is the first Chinese supercomputer based solely on Chinese processors, no more Intel inside Originally, the Chinese did intend to use Intel Xeon chips, but some export embargo on such chips prevented that, so the Chinese simply developed their own chips. Seems that embargo has backfired

Saw that. Expected. The concept of thinking beyond the immediate has been lost to most, because of Wall Street and short term profits trumping strategies that work for the long term becoming the norm. Daddy lives high in the short term, his kiddies die or live in poverty as a consequence. Welcome to Century 21.
