Easy-peasy.

Like now.

What setting have I somehow inadvertently changed?
What do I do?

thx
Click on the first option "Save as PDF"

Chrome has a different dialog box to create PDFs and has a PDF maker listed as a printer.

Sorry for the delay getting back...

As said in post #1 I know how to do the process.
But this one document continues to vex me.

I copied it into TextEdit app and did the pdf from that
so the immediate problem is solved but the underlying issue remains.

I'll re-characterize the problem:
What could be wrong with the Word format doc I was trying to save as a pdf?

So you're sure that you're still able to create PDFs from other Word docs?

See if that file is corrupt. Do a "Save As" of your un-PDFable file in Word, to create a new file with a new name. Then try printing that one.

Yes.

Clearly it is.

Been there. Done that. No difference.

That's what has been so frustrating as it also doesn't print.

i dont follow the issue because i see save as pdf in the drop-down (did you try clikking on that ?).

i am not trying to be a fan-boy but libre-office has an 'export to pdf' feature baked rite into the file menu. just use that (no haxxing necessary).

Stanley, the OP is using a Mac computer, and the PDF writer is built-in to the OS, Mac OS X. It's not an add-on or 3rd party app. Also his issue seems to be with 1 particular Word doc, not all his print-to-PDF jobs.

The End.

Out of curiousity, what is on this document? Some data you copy/pasted from web page or image or text or mixed stuff?

Can you (save and then) print the same document in another format?

Can you take it on a flash drive and take it down to Kinko's to see if they can print it?
