No one reads the previous posts before giving unnecessary and, frankly, dumb (being that it's unnecessary) advice.

In case someone decides to read this post:

The OP sent items to the recycle bin then emptied it. Those who keep telling them to check the recycle bin should take the time to fully read the very first post.

Telling the OP to check backups means you've not read the OP's posts as he has said there are no backups.

If you still can't figure it out do us a favor and turn off your computer. It will be appreciated.

you have no sense of humor except for your own lame attempts at the same.

So go check your recycle bin, backups, and maybe a Windows 10 upgrade.

Sorry, but I agree with Tek totally. If you are going to spend time in this forum and actually try to help people you need to read and maybe REREAD the posts by the person needing help so you have a firm understanding of what it being asked. Period. Anything else is pure laziness. The 3rd post... "Did you check the recycle bun?" That is kind of funny...
Yes, mistakes happen. And that is certainly forgivable. But if you are going to chime in on a 3 page thread, read it first to make sure no one else has suggested the same thing.

As already stated, Recuva should be your first choice. It works well. If that doesn't find your file, nothing will. Might try Photorec too based on others opinions, as well.

I'll go further and say that people who post without reading or attempting to understand what is going on are rude and a distraction. If you can't be bothered to read, please sit on the sidelines. If your panties are going to get in a bunch because someone calls you out, and you feel like lashing out at them, you might not need to be posting on forums.

The classic for me is a two or three page thread, with some twit chiming in at the end "I didn't read through all the posts, BUT...<insert unhelpful comment here>" In meat life, such people would be ignored or be forced to run for President, where such behavior is now considered acceptable.

I know ... I was just joking.
I repeated two postings word for word two.

OP, what OS are you running?

Ok ok, I kid.

On one hand, what Peregrine and harry chickpea said about Tek said is true - people should read previous posts before posting themselves.

On the other hand, that initial post by Tek about not reading, while funny (I was laughing), didn't help things either. It led to about 15 or so additional posts replying to Tek's post and nothing to do with the original post.

Wasted posts. Including this one.

I think we can go Off Topic now. This question has been answered. A few times.

The only thing left is for OP to report back if he/she got his/her file back.

While I agree with you I also feel that perhaps doing what I did might cause future posters to read the thread before responding with inaccurate or redundant information.

One can only hope.

And I am as guilty as anyone else.
