I don't know why this is so hard to find an answer to, but I don't suppose anyone can tell me definitively if this usb wifi adapter works with Windows 10 and if so, how to get it to work?

I have a new laptop with windows 10 that just flat-out WILL NOT CONNECT to the one and only wifi location where I spent the whole summer (it works everywhere else in the world - prolly over 500 different locations with no problem) and please don't tell me how to fix the pc's adapter problem I have already spent more time and tried everything listed on the internet anywhere and none of them worked. So I bought this wifi usb adapter - and it isn't showing up after doing the install on windows 10. It had worked fine on other laptops but none of them had windows 10. I cannot find out from the netgear website whether it is supposed to work or not work on windows 10 so thus - hoping to get someone here who knows.

Thankx

I have just run through the hurdles and gauntlet for this wifi adapter. I have the WN111 v1 and it works! http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN111v1/WN111%20Software%20Version%202.1%20(North%20Americ a).zip That is the direct link to the most current driver download from netgear. The installer worked for me in Windows 10 64bit. However after I installed the drivers the device wouldn't connect to my home network! I finally fixed it and it works properly.

What I had to do was go to the lower right hand corner and
1. right-click the wifi icon and select Open Network and Sharing Center.
2. From there look to the left of the window and select Change adapter settings.
3. Next find your adapter, it will probably be called Wi-Fi 1 or 2 or something depending. It will say under Wi-Fi at the bottom RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N USB. You then right-click the icon and select Properties.
4. Make sure that Marvell EAP Driver box is deselected. I only kept Client for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks, Internet Protocol Version 4 and the 2 at the bottom Link-Layer Topology.
5. Click OK

There were a few other things I did to the device. If the above didn't work for you then try this:
1. Open the Device Manager (Windows Key+R and type in devmgmt.msc)
2. Expand Network Adapters
3. Double-click RangeMax NEXT Wireless-N USB
4. Select the Advanced tab and make sure Antenna and Channel Width are both set to Auto and Encryption Type is set to Hw Encryption. Tx Power Lever to highest there is.

After all of this I was able to connect and use the adapter. I hope I helped.
