At one time I had a Chrome extension installed that would block the backspace key from going back a page, as it had irritated me one too many times. Its not there anymore though, I think that was the old pc. Just tested it andbackspace does go back to the last page in Chrome. I guess I must not get tripped up by it that much anymore. It should be an easy to change option, some like it, some don't.

I just use the mouse and click the Back button at the top of the browser. Never used the keyboard for this.

I used that feature all the time on my laptop. No more, I guess.

Lost my Backspace option today. It is now ALT + Left Arrow.
I'm fine with that.

I use Opera 39, Firefox 48, and IE 11 all in Windows 8.1 (with DuckDuckGo as the default search engine in each) on the laptop I've had for the last year and a half. I'm glad I never installed Chrome.

This really annoyed me, but I found an extension called 'Back to Backspace' that restores the backspace key functionality to go back one page. Now I'm calm again...

After using Chrome since this change I slowly became quite annoyed by this. I was about to bail on CHrome but did one more search for a solution and stumbled upon.... what Jonah Mentioned (did not see your last reply until now):

Chrome Web Store Apps: Backspace to go Back Chrome extension available | BGR

Not sure why Google couldn't do something similar. Backspace works UNLESS you are typing in a field. Perfect solution.
