I pretty much have a test laptop (screen is broken) that I test websites on just in case it might contain some nasty viruses. I have a second laptop for browsing the Internet with. Then I have my gaming PC strictly for gaming.

Yeah, definitely not a good idea.
I expected more than one other person to say this, but it really just depends on what you use your computer for. If all you use it for is email, youtube, and an occasional document; you could get along fine with a tablet or potentially even just a phone.

Some of us frequently use software that would not be usable on a tablet or perform tasks that are significantly easier sitting in front of a monitor with a keyboard and mouse. Then there's also those of us who like building PC's. So, I definitely don't think PC's in general are ready to be retired. You personally might find it easiest to live without though
