Check the pins at the connections. Sometimes one will bend when they are plugged in and sometimes they get some corrosion and need cleaning.

Maybe try this: go to control panel and change resolution/calibrate color. Look for something like "Output color format" and change the setting from 'RGB' to 'YCbCr444' ?
Or try this:

BTW: check the wiring, perhaps something is loose?

you obviously are losing the red channel. Try a new cable. Unlikely to be at the computer or monitor connector, but if it is, new monitor, since connectors are hard to repair. If the problem was at the computer, there would be other work-arounds.

It's the cable. It's nearly always the cable when a color winks out.
Make sure it's tight. You'll be fine.

How many power cables back there? Does the monitor cable run on top or under them? If so rearrange them so it doesn't. Long shot, but easy to try.

On second thought you might not want to if wiggling makes a change.

"Who's your computer tech?"

"My cat."

If the PC is a desktop, I would first replace the cable if it's removable from the monitor. If the cable is not removable you're left with two options to try. Replace the monitor or replace the video port (may be adding a video card if yours is part of the motherboard). Since you have flicker, the direction is more towards the monitor being the issue. A failing video card would usually be faded out and have what looks like stretched lines or horizontal lines of garbage video.
