Computer help
Okay, for some reason, my laptop is acting wonky. I'll try to explain the best I can.
I have Itunes, and it's been working fine. All my songs play, and there is not a problem. The other night, I wanted to add some more songs to my library, so I pop a CD in, and notice the songs are skipping. These are very good CD's too, not a scratch on them. So I take it out, look at it, insert it again..and it's the same problem. So I go to my library. Surely it wouldn't be a problem there, they're already downloaded and everything. Those songs are skipping too.
Well, I learned about a thing called system restore, because I was being over zealous, and I deleted a bunch of stuff I wasn't supposed to. I was trying to watch DVD's but they were skipping as well, so I figured it was the programs. I deleted anything that had to do with a media player, intending to install it again. I re-installed Media Player, but it wouldn't play the ripped DVD's anymore. I told my boyfriend and he informed me I had deleted software that was intended to be on the laptop. Oops. So my sister told me about system restore. And that did work, but the DVD's were still skipping.
So anyway, I do a system restore, thinking I could go back to a time when my songs weren't skipping all over the place, and it works, but now I get a message from Itunes saying
"Itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration."
I have no idea what this means or how to fix it. Did I do some major damage? I really don't want my boyfriend to find out I'm screwing up his laptop...
Please help.

Well, if I was your boyfriend I'd be more upset that you tried to fix a problem you created than if you just fessed up and told me you had a problem.

Try reinstalling your sound drivers.

You can usually download the drivers for your laptop online from the manufacturers site. They are usually Realtek codecs.

I'm silly. I didn't need to do all that. My friend helped me with my computer, and all I had to do was install Quicktime. It worked fine after that. Even though I'm still getting that annoying skipping with Itunes. But I'm just glad to have everything back working again...lol
