I've been looking into this service as I don't have a car, and vision problems shouldn't anyway. But after I tried installing the first time it sounded good. The price doesn't seem high and it would be nice to get out more. But then, today, I had to reinstall and it came up with a couple things which I can't agree with.

First off, it requires you to give it permission to look at the photo's on your phone. Mine are all the cats, but if I'd not want anything personal on it, I guess I'd just not use it. But then it also requires you give permission to control the camera.

No way. I'll be deleting the account I opened, and hope there is a why are you deleting your account part, since there aren't any normal 'contact us' places I can find.

I do need a ride I can depend on showing, not daily but now and then, and it would be perfect. I'll look into Lyft, but if they have the same crap, forget it.

Can't they find some other way of increasing your security?

I think the one way I'd do it is take the second phone and use that and do absolutely nothing else with it. Mostly its there if a call needs to be made and phone number one is dead or charging.

Yes, I know, landlines, but there are none here and a cheap second cell isn't expensive.

Your call, OP. Millions of people use Uber. If the company was stealing photos or credit card info, I think it would have made the news.
