I had no intention of making money from it. It was just something I did for myself, just for the fun of it. It was a neat little thing I had, that nobody else had except for maybe a few other geeks like myself. Everything isn't always about the money. Is that all you can think about?

Well, knowing you as I do, I surmised that. But your post #19 said....

Win98 SE was easily MS's best OS ever
Literal interpretation would be quite different than what (I was fairly certain) you meant.

And I would certainly think you'd agree that Windows 10 is not all pluses by comparison. Personally, prior to Microsoft's running into an ally and transforming itself into Big Brother with the release of XP, I was a big fan of theirs. Since then they have taken way too much control and have lost sight of what made them the giant they were 20 years ago - their customers' best interests.

Right on.

Yea, I'm still a fan of MS... to be honest it indirectly feeds my family and pays my bills... How can I hate them?
But yea... they don't do everything right. Ono. I have plenty of issues with Redmond.

LOL. What in the actual hell is this even a question or a comparison? You all need tech 101 lesson which is a new software/tech is considered jurassic within a month and you want to run a decades old windows software on a new PC?! LOOOOOOOOOOOOL.

You people need to get with the times.. I know the most basic reason for hating a new software is coz you have to learn a new thing again when you just learn how to click a mouse on windows. LOL. But well, that's PC life for you. Or anything tech for that matter.
Maybe you need basic reading 101.

Does anyone think some tweak might solve the problem? If every one of us set ignore? Is there a clause in the TOS to cover this insanity?

Any ideas?

Win98 is still running on many ATM, casino gambling machines, billboard, automated manufacturing machinery. These don't talk to internet so they won't get hacked. Most ATM machines running win98 uses DUN(dial-up networking) to transmit transactions. The problem is newer Windows is simply too bulky and resource hungry. Win98 could run with just 1/2 gig of memory if it just runs one program and do not need more than 300MB of space.

I recall working on a project for the large 3D printing machine a long time ago running win98. All it does is print circuit boards for various electronic devices. I believe many still use Win98 or XP.
