I'm looking to buy a pair of outdoor speakers. What's the optimum distance I can put them from my computer? If they don't come with wire, what gauge should I use. I've used Bluetooth speakers and wasn't impressed. I have an HP, desktop PC.

How are you going to wire them to the computer? Most that I've seen only have a small audio out receptacle.

Just plug them in. I have some Blackweb, or some such name, now. I just plugged them in and they work just fine. I'm looking for something more powerful, and that I can put outside.

I would think you won't have enough drive to push those speaker, unless you get something with a small amp sub woofer type setup.

Does your sound card support multi-channel speakers or have a line out connection? By optimum distance, do you mean farthest away or best sounding? For anything beyond the same room as the computer, you should consider powered speakers like these. Although it would be cheaper to get a small 2 channel amp and some bookshelf speakers.

I think I'm getting in over my head after reading these responses. I found a megaphone that takes an SD card, so that's what I'm going to try. Thanks for the replies.

Sonos will be on sale after the 23rd. BB has them on now if you're a member. You have to log in to see the prices.

Wasn't impressed? I'm not surprised since most BT speakers are tiny.

Not these. You will probably get complaints from your neighbors. BT does not go through walls very well but these work great with a smartphone.
