How many people here have and use tablets? I bought mine from BestBuy because it was cheap, Android 6.0, 10", for just $80. Had it for 2 years.
Then, started to malfunction; nothing downloaded, apps disappeared, slow, rebooted for no reason, etc.
So, I was so fedup I wanted to smash it with a hammer, and just buy a new tablet.
But...
...then, I decided to reset it to factory settings. I did so, all the apps and settings were gone, but heck, it works like brand new now! I am now downloading my apps again, have formatted SD to external storage instead of internal, and all is back to normal.

Likely not enough memory caused some or all of your issues.

I bought a Nexus in 2012 specifically to take on a Germany trip and then struggled for a couple years to find a Reason to keep it. What did it do that was unique, that made it worth owning now that I did the one trip that showed me it wasn't needed/used.

As time passed, the thing became worthless (as in, worth so little that I'd never bother to sell it) and I managed to find one use, that of displaying my recipes for cooking.

When it dies, I'll not replace it.

I'm typing this on my iPad 2 I got for free in 2011. Still works pretty good, but it's starting to show its age.

Have 2 iPad Pros - 9.7 for the wife and a 10.5 for me. I use the iPad probably 80% of the time - mostly reading, web surfing, email. If I'm gaming or doing photo editing, I use my tower or my laptop though. The iPads are great for what they are, and good for taking on trips too so our toddler can watch his movies. Bought an Apple TV to travel with since we keep most of his movies on my iPad - can stream them to the TV.

My home computer is an iPad, and at work I use a Surface with docking station and dual monitors. I can detach and take to meetings. The only laptop I still use at times is specifically for a piece of equipment at home that I use for my hobby/side business.
