Hi, guys! I need your advice. Have Lenovo Yoga 2.11 with Win10. I don't like that OS. What I only need is a browser. I tried Ubuntu, but it was sooo slow. Lubuntu is the same situation. What is your opinion? Thanks!

Did you really install Ubuntu? Or did you run the demo from the CD? It should not be slow.

30 seconds to boot up? That's not very slow. How is it once it loads?

I use Ubuntu 17.10 on my laptop, and it's the best OS I've ever used. I use Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57) for my browser, and it's great. There are many Linux distros, but Ubuntu works best for me. Besides. it's nice not having to worry about viruses.

I have WIndows Agualung. I don't worry about viruses either.

So, OP, you've tried 2 different OS'es, Installed them both, not running them from a CD... and they are both too slow.
I'm thinking there's something else at play here. Ubuntu shouldn't be slow on a 10 year old computer. Kind of what it's famous for.

The download of Ubuntu 17.10 is currently discouraged due to an issue on certain Lenovo laptops.

I'm not sure they fixed that

Also I tried Linux Mint yesterday evening. 1.2 minutes for load. Lubuntu took 30 sec. My Lenovo not 10yo. It was released in 2013. I have no idea now what to try to install...
