And, yes, it works in Windows 10 home and I've done it. Got no updates for probably most of a year while I was running on my EOM HP-loaded hard drive. Things run so much smoother with my new drive (without all the added HP garbage) that I haven't yet felt the need to turn them off. But I could and would if/when I want to.
Didn't work for me.

Once Windows 10 has downloaded the updates, it doesn't install them right away.

On the start menu, you have Update & Shut Down, Sleep and Restart.

Couldn't a user keep using Sleep instead of Shut Down and the updates would never get installed?

Also, if you clicked on Restart in that situation, would it also install the updates?

Tried sleep. The computer woke itself up, wiped out what I was working on, and did the update.

You can put it off for awhile but eventually it forces it on you.
