I've been with DSL Extreme for many years as it was easy and I'm a technophobe. I just use my laptop for internet browsing, emails, youtube videos and to play DVDs.

The problem is when I watch live streaming news. It freezes and drops out although, strangely, the commercials usually play just fine. I am assuming I need an upgrade in speed. I have a wireless thingy

Any disadvantage to switching my phone as well with this offer? I have a landline phone with AT&T and Virgin pay as I go cell phone. The phone is hooked up in the bedroom and the laptop is in the living room.

Want something cheap and easy as I'm a technophobe but it looks like they will send someone to install for free. Is the cheapest on this list the best one?

Help!

Thanks!

Is the cheapest option ever the best?
No, that's not a good option at all. You want the next step up at a minimum.

Yeah, the $37/mo seems reasonable. I will call the sales office and steel myself against their upselling. Thanks.

My friend finally switched from DSL to coaxial cable only when her provider stopped providing service.

DSL speeds seem very slow and expensive to me
Pro 3.0Mbs $27.95 /mo
Max 12Mbs $37.95 /mo
Max Turbo 24Mb $52.95 /mo
Power 45Mb $62.95 /mo

Rates charged by my local coaxial cable company
10.0 Mbs $24.99 /mo
50.0 Mbs $29.99 /mo
250.0 Mbs $39.99 /mo
500.0 Mbs $49.99 /mo
1000.0 Mbs $59.99 /mo

The wire in coaxial cable is considerably thicker than telephone lines and it is much less expensive to carry high speed data.

12 is fine for one person or stream. Even 2.
I had 15 forever and we had no issues.
