If they are not in the Fonts folder then they are not installed. So, nothing to delete or hide. Hope this clarified better.
That makes sense.

But no, most of the fonts I would like to delete are not install-able fonts from the store. They're already installed but not in the fonts folder. It's a mystery.

Well, I finally learned about one aspect of this little mystery.

The little fonts that now show up in Windows Office as little clouds in the drop down menu...they are fonts in the cloud that are downloadable...for free...from Microsoft. But, "Granular control over Cloud fonts does not exist. We will consider this feedback for future releases."...according to Microsoft.

That still doesn't give me an answer about fonts that don't seem to exist anywhere that I can't get rid of. But at least one little part of the problem is defined.

Interesting but plausible, since it is Microsoft and all. MS is definitely want to take everything to cloud, similar to Adobe. It gives them much better control over their products as well as opens more opportunities for revenue generation in the form of paid-for services.

If you do have an www.office.com account, see if you can login and manage them that way but I wouldn't hold my breath on it based on what you quoted.
